A guide to the library & web resources on this subject

Activating Your Card

Your Hunter College ID Card is Your OneCard
Use your Hunter ID Card (OneCard) to check out books, print, make photocopies, pay fines, or access your library account. You  must stop by the Circulation Desk in person to activate your card/account. For more info go to library.hunter.cuny.edu and http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/it/it-services/onecard.

Your Hunter College ID Card is Your OneCard

The first thing you should do is stop by the Circulation Desk in any of our Libraries to activate your card and your account.

Your Hunter Student ID Card/OneCard is your all-access pass to library resources including borrowing books, checking out laptop computers, printing, photocopying and more. It can also be used for a lot of campus-wide resources, so hang on to it and bring it with you everywhere!

You can also find your Library Barcode on the back of your ID. When asked for a Library Barcode and password, enter the number in both the Barcode and Password fields. Your Barcode is your Password unless you change it.

Request Books From Another CUNY Library (CLICS)

If Hunter doesn't have the book you need, but another CUNY library does, you have two options:

  1. Go to the another CUNY library and check out the book.
  2. Order the book to be delivered to Hunter via CLICS.

The system of borrowing books from another CUNY library is called CLICS. It usually takes 3-5 business days to receive a book after you submit your request. If you're in a hurry, it may be faster to go to the CUNY library with the book and check it out in person.

To use CLICS or to access another CUNY library in person, please first make sure that your card has been activated.

**NOTE: This only applies to REGULAR LOAN print books, not items on Reserve.
