Search Basics (skills guide)

Brainstorm your topic as you search

Your topic may change as you conduct your research. Every source you look at should do three things to help you continue your research:

  1. Provide more information about your topic.
  2. Provide a new keyword to potentially add to your search string.
  3. Provide one more citation to add to your bibliography.

The topic or question you have at the beginning of the research process will likely change as you go along. This is all part of the research process.
