As of September 8th:
All items that are not moving to the new compact shelving are in their new homes. You can find a location guide on the Cooperman Library's maps page. Bound journals and other books that were tagged are still unavailable until the compact shelving on the B2 level is completed.
Starting Monday, July 14th:
Basement level 2 will be closed until further notice.
Starting Wednesday, July 2nd:
Shelving will be installed on floors B2, 1 and 4. It might get pretty loud in these spaces. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
As of Tuesday, June 24, several areas on the 4th floor are unavailable due to shelving being installed. We apologize for noise and discomfort
As of Monday, June 16, approximately one third of the Hunter College Libraries materials will be listed as “Unavailable” in CUNY+ until the Fall semester.
In preparation for the next phase of the renovation, materials from the 6th and 7th floors of the Cooperman Library are being relocated to other parts of the library. Starting in Mid-July, we will be installing compact shelving on one floor of our Library, which will house about one third of our monographs as well as our bound periodicals. The compact shelving will allow us to house more materials in less space.
Please pardon the disruptions in the Cooperman Library as the renovation is underway. We will do our best to keep you informed and to minimize the disturbances as much as possible.
Where is everything?
We will update this white board at the library entrance at 3:30 each day in order to keep you posted as to where the books and journals are located during the shift. We understand that this is not an ideal situation but we'll do our best!
June 20, 2014:
The bound periodicals, meaning all the back issues of journals and magazines that previously lived on the 5th Floor of the Cooperman Library, will be UNAVAILABLE until the Fall 2014 semester. We apologize for the inconvenience and invite you to request articles you need via InterLibrary Loan.
