The Maria Rosenbloom Genocide Studies Collection

Maria Rosenbloom was a woman of courage and determination.  Having survived the Holocaust, she committed a substantial part of her life's work to the articulation of the impact of genocide and to the advocacy of international human rights.  A long-time faculty member and supporter of the Silberman School of Social Work, our community was saddened by Prof. Rosenbloom's death in the fall of 2011.

Upon Prof. Rosenbloom retirement, she and her family made a generous donation for the development of a library collection specific to the study of the impact of the Holocaust, global genocide, and their implications for social service communities.

The Schools of Social Work & Urban Public Health Library is proud to house The Maria Rosenbloom Genocide Studies Collection, confident that it will further the legacy of a remarkable woman.
