Finding Textbooks
How to find textbooks "on reserve" or elsewhere

For textbooks reserved for your class...
Search for Course Reserves.
Visit library.hunter.cuny.edu and click the Reserves tab. Your professor may have reserved textbooks for your class. Not all classes have textbooks on reserve.

For textbooks that the Library owns...
Search OneSearch.

Visit library.hunter.cuny.edu use the OneSearch box. You can search for any textbooks including older editions. The Library does not have copies of all textbooks.

For textbooks that the Library does NOT own...
Search other CUNY Libraries in OneSearch.

Visit library.hunter.cuny.edu and click the Advanced Search underneath the OneSearch box. Select the All CUNY button and search for your book. Books requested from other CUNY libraries should arrive at Hunter within a week.

NOTE: If a book is on reserve at another CUNY library, you may not be able to check it out but you can still visit to use it in the library. Please call the appropriate library to find out. Hunter undergraduates are not allowed to borrow books from the CUNY Law Library.

Alternatively, you can search a public library.
A public library may have the textbook you are looking for.

If you need help with finding textbooks, visit the Welcome Desk on Floor 3 of the Cooperman Library, or Ask-A-Librarian.
