The RWC is a peer tutoring service. Our tutors can work with you either in person or online at any stage of the writing process to assist you in becoming a better critical reader and academic writer. 

Tutors can help you with all aspects of the reading/writing process or with all kinds of papers and research projects, as well as non-academic writing such as admission & scholarship essays, resumes, and cover letters.

The Mary P. Dolciani Mathematics Learning Center is a comprehensive facility designed to support the learning of mathematics and statistics across the college curriculum.

  • It is the site of development and implementation of workshops designed to broaden the quantitative literacy skills of students across the entire College curriculum.
  • It is a Resource Center providing computer assisted tutorials, multi-media materials and DVDs for students enrolled in all math/stat courses in the Department, students enrolled in other courses in the College needing a review of mathematics, and students studying for standardized exams such as the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, LAST and Nursing Exams.
  • It is a Tutoring Center for most math courses and stat course.  The Center also sponsors study groups for all areas of mathematics and statistics.
  • It is the site of development and implementation for specialized programs and workshops in mathematics.  These include Content-Based Study Skills, Multi-media Courses, Critical-Thinking Problem Sessions and Reviews for Placement Exams.

The Skirball Science Learning Center (SSLC) provides comprehensive assistance to all Hunter College students in all areas of the natural sciences and technology.  Our professional staff and peer tutors provide a learning environment in which all students (regardless of major) are welcome. The center provides, scheduled and drop-in one-to-one tutoring, group-mentor sessions and review sessions. The center also provides textbooks and study guides for loan.

Located just outside the 7th Floor entrance to the Cooperman Library, you will find the Pre-Professional Advising suite: Pre-Business, Pre-Health, and Pre-Law.

The Pre-Health Professions Advising Office at Hunter College provides a wealth of information, opportunities, and support for students planning to enter the health professions as physicians, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, veterinarians, physician assistants, pharmacists, and occupational and physical therapists.

  • All advising appointments are now made online. 
  • Advising appointments are reserved for current Hunter College students and Hunter Alumni who are registerd with the Pre-Health Advising Office.

The Hunter College Pre-Law Program brings together a number of opportunities designed to prepare students for law school, including alumni mentoring, special internships, informational forums, one-on-one and small-group advising, enrichment activities, student clubs, and skill-building courses.

The Hunter Pre-Law Office serves current Hunter students and Hunter alumni. Hunter alumni are very welcome to register with the office, participate in our events, and come for pre-law advising. Eligibility for some special funded opportunities may be limited to current students.
