World Theatre I

A guide to get you started with theatre history research, from antiquity through the early 17th century.

Search for Books

How?

Two ways: Use our new (and in Beta) OneSearch to find books, ebooks, articles, and more. Or go directly to the Books search on our home page to search the CUNY Catalog. The Catalog is a database of the materials (books, e-books, DVDs, journal titles, etc.) that are held at each library in the CUNY system. It is the fastest, most efficient way to search for things in our Libraries.

Where?

On the Hunter Libraries home page. The landing page will allow you to search OneSearch. Select the Books option to search just the catalog.

What about ebooks?

Ebooks can be found via the two searches above, or you may select an ebook database to search in directly. Here is a complete list of our ebook databases: http://library.hunter.cuny.edu/databases/type/6

Books from other CUNY Schools

If you need a book that Hunter does not own, search CUNY+ for other CUNY schools that may have the title you need. You can borrow books from other CUNY schools through CLICS: CUNY Libraries InterCampus Service. Click this link to learn how to borrow materials using CLICS.

InterLibrary Loan

To get your hands on books not available within the CUNY system, use our InterLibrary Loan system, ILLiad. ILLiad can be used for books as well as journal articles.

Please read the policies (especially the information about the number of items you can request at a time - for undergraduates, it is 5 items) carefully and follow the instructions to insure that your request is processed quickly.
