First things first...

Visit the library's website regularly for news and updates: http://library.hunter.cuny.edu

Your Hunter Student ID Card/OneCard is your all-access pass to library resources including borrowing books, checking out laptop computers, printing, photocopying and more. It can also be used for a lot of campus-wide resources, so hang on to it and bring it with you everywhere!

Learn your Hunter email addess and password and don't forget them! Although if you do you can always go here to look it up. This email address and password will allow you access to our electronic resources, or databases, from anywhere you have an internet connection. That includes your home, the nearest Starbucks, the airport...

What can you check out at the library?

Click on the links (in blue text) to find out how to do each item!

Find Books and other materials using our online catalog, CUNY+:

CUNY+ is a CUNY-wide online catalog that allows you to search for materials at our libraries as well as any library within the CUNY system. Find the CUNY+ link on the library home page under the "Find" menu.

Watch a short video tutorial to find out how to find items by title or by author. You can also use CUNY+ to find videos and other materials like music recordings and electronic books.

You can renew your books online and while you're in your CUNY+ account you can see what you have checked out and if you have any fines.

CUNY+ allows you to easily borrow materials from other CUNY libraries as well. This page will give you the information you need about this service!

Locate textbooks and readings for your classes

Sometimes, professors will place materials for specific classes "on Reserve" at the library. Reserve materials can take many forms: print copies of textbooks, photocopies of course packets containing articles and readings, and electronic reserves or "e-res"

Visit this page for information about locating and using reserve materials. If you have questions or can't find what you are looking for, please ask a librarian - we are here to help!

Check out electronic devices for your personal use

In addition to books and course readings, you can check out laptop computers, chargers and adapters for your electronics like your MP3 player or cell phone, and calculators.

All of these devices are available at the Reserve Desk on the 2nd floor of the Wexler Library at the 68th Street campus. Laptops are available at all of the branch libraries. Click on the above links for policies and forms.

The Wexler Library also has two areas where you can charge your electronic devices: the 2nd floor and the 4th floor. See the floor maps for more details.
